Touchview

Diagnostic Imaging for Aesthetic Procedures

The TouchView™ System is a unique diagnostic imaging solution specifically designed for the aesthetic market. It combines the TouchView finger probe with a Terason 2000+™ ultrasound system to image soft tissue layers pre-, intra- and post-aesthetic treatments.

The TouchView System fills a void in the diagnostic aspects of aesthetic surgery. For years, physicians have performed surgical and injection-based procedures relying on palpation, external visual cues and anatomical knowledge and experience. In the past, diagnostic imaging technology has been limited by bulky probes and large, expensive imaging equipment.

Now, quick, effective, inexpensive imaging is available at your fingertips. The TouchView System can be used for a wide array of aesthetic applications, such as:

  • Fatty tissue layer imaging
  • Image-guided fat grafting
  • Breast implant monitoring
  • Image-guided filler placement
  • Pre-surgical mapping and planning
  • Post-surgical seroma detection
  • Sclerotherapy imaging
  • Training instrument
  • Patient consultation tool

High Quality Imaging and Portability

The TouchView System is a complete, high-performance portable imaging solution designed specifically for aesthetic surgery. The system consists of two components, the TouchView finger probe and the Terason 2000+™ imaging platform.

TouchView Probe

  • 8MHz, 128 element linear array transducer specifically designed to fit between the index and middle fingers.
  • Broad bandwidth (5 to 12 MHz) allows adjustable imaging depth, from 2 to 9 cm below the skin. Optimal imaging resolution between 1.5 and 4 cm.
  • Frequency and focal point adjustments allow physicians to focus on specific depths and tissue layers depending on the application.
  • Capable of working within the surgical field when used with sterile sheath.

Terason 2000+ Ultrasound System

  • Lightweight, portable laptop system provides fast and accurate imaging assessment.
  • Integrated measurement and reporting tools allow quick analysis.
  • Built-in flow imaging capabilities permit simple identification of vessels using both Color and Power Doppler.
  • Integrated CD/DVD and USB ports enable patient data to be easily stored, managed and transported.
  • Intuitive Windows®-based interface and wireless networking capabilities provide superior ease of use and functionality.

A Versatile Imaging Platform

The TouchView™ System uses a small, hand-held probe to take ultrasound images of a patient’s body – images that are processed on the nearby Terason 2000+™ laptop system. Like other medical sonography devices, the TouchView transducer uses high-frequency sound waves to medically image portions of your patient’s body.

Imaging with the TouchView Probe

The lightweight TouchView probe is easily held between the index and middle fingers, allowing you to maintain touch and feel while imaging.

The TouchView transducer images soft tissue up to 9 cm below the skin – from the dermis down to the superficial and deep fat layers. The probe’s optimal imaging resolution is between 1.5 and 4 cm.

Processing TouchView Images with the Terason 2000+

The TouchView System is engineered to make interpretation clear and measurement simple. The superior imaging capabilities of the Terason 2000+ console allow the physician to precisely image and measure fatty tissue and muscle layers. Built-in Power Doppler technology simplifies the detection of blood vessels by color coding blood flow on the ultrasound image.

A Range of Clinical Applications

The system can be used pre-, intra- and post-aesthetic treatments to meet your clinical needs. Used before aesthetic procedures, the TouchView System can aid in treatment planning or act as a consultation tool to help set realistic patient expectations.

Augmentation and wrinkle reduction procedures can be enhanced by using the TouchView System to precisely place fillers, injectables or autologous fat to improve overall results and the longevity of the treatments.

Post-procedure, the TouchView System can be used to detect seroma formation or other complications, or to quantitatively show a patient the results of their treatment. For example, breast implants can be monitored right in your office on a consistent basis to help detect irregularities and potential leaks.
