AFT (Autologous Fat Transfer) Procedure
The efficacy of fat grafting procedures takes more than a little know-how; it also takes a combination of the right tools and talent. Sound Surgical Technologies created the perfect complement to their VASER Lipo System with the introduction of the TouchView System.
As an ultrasound-assisted body contouring system, VASER Lipo operates by maximizing fat extraction while minimizing damage to important tissue structures, including maintaining fat cell viability. Couple this with the TouchView system, a diagnostic ultrasound imaging system specifically designed for aesthetic applications such as, fatty tissue layer imaging, image-guided filler placement, image-guided fat grafting and breast implant monitoring, and you have two distinct systems that work effortlessly as one.
Dr. David Matlock states that the VASER Lipo System is the ultimate body sculpting tool on the market. “Now the VASER System, coupled with the revolutionary TouchView intraoperative sonographic imaging, allows us to do what traditional systems could only dream of. This is exciting news for Dr. Matlock as he continues to conduct research on this system. “For example, in our ongoing research, the combined system has enabled us to naturally sculpt out the muscles of the biceps, triceps, and deltoids, and augment the biceps and triceps via intraoperative ultrasound guided autologous fat transfer; and, in so doing, increase the bicep/tricep diameter by 4.0 cm. With the completion of our research project, we will ultimately develop out similar procedures for the other muscle groups of the body. We are also currently perfecting TouchView guided AFT to the buttocks and pectoral muscles.”
The VASER Lipo System is the ideal tool for body sculpting if the physician plans to harvest the fat for re-injection. The selective ultrasound energy is able to break apart the fatty tissue into small packets of viable fat cells that are easy to re-inject, while giving physicians the precision to sculpt superficially. In fact, Dr. Matlock has performed liposculpturing for 23 years, treating over 6000 patients in the process. “In regards to our VASER ASB procedures, I perform 20 per month. It is interesting to note that our advanced VASER ASB procedure has increased our male patient population from 1% to over 20%.”
